The Australian Shepherd has a fairly long fluffy coat that's weather-resistant. There's quite a lot of feathering on the body and legs too.
Temperament
Easy-going, great with kids, devoted, affectionate and naturally protective, the Australian Shepherd is very smart, easy to train and likes to please.
Health problems
This breed could be prone to epilepsy.
Exercise
Give this dog plenty of vigorous daily exercise.
Grooming
Brush the coat occasionally. This breed is an average shedder.
Living conditions
This breed is not suitable for apartment life. It needs at least a large yard to run around in.
Origin
The Australian Shepherd is actually not Australian at all. It was developed in the Pyrenees Mountains and has traditionally been used as a working herding dog.
