Description
The Japanese Chin has large dark protruding eyes, a white fluffy coat with coloured patches, and a tail that's set high and arches over the back. This breed was originally bred specifically as a companion dog and quickly became a favourite among Japanese nobility.
Characteristics
Pleasant, affectionately, devoted and happy, the Japanese Chin likes to be the centre of attention but is good with other pets. This breed is not a barker but makes a good watchdog.
Health problems
This breed can be prone to eye issues, respiratory problems, heat prostration and distemper. It also tends to wheeze and snore.
Exercise
A daily walk is enough exercise for the Japanese Chin.
Grooming
Light combing every day will keep the coat looking shiny. This breed is an average shedder.
Living conditions
Apartment living is good if it gets enough exercise.
