Description
The Norwich Terrier is a strong, sturdy, short little dog with a wiry straight coat that comes in various colours and colour combinations, occasionally with white markings.
Characteristics
Active, affectionate, easy to train and great with children, this breed loves playing fetch. It can be hard to house-train and can become a barker and digger if left outside by itself for too long.
Health Problems
This breed can be prone to back problems and genetic eye diseases but are generally healthy.
Exercise
The Norwich Terrier is very energetic and needs regular exercise.
Grooming
Daily brushing of the shaggy waterproof coat will keep this dog well-groomed. This breed is a light shedder.
Living Environment
Apartment living is fine for this breed as long as it gets regular exercise.
Fun Fact
Traditionally the Norwich Terrier was used to flush foxes from the dens during fox hunts. Their small size enabled them to enter and exit dens very easily.
