Description
Known as the Jack Russell Terrier in the States, the Parson Russell Terrier has a harsh double coat that's either smooth wirehaired. It's usually white with black, tan or grizzle markings.
Characteristics
Cheerful, loving, devoted, obedient and spirited, a Parson Russell loves games and toys, and are pretty good with children. This breed likes to climb and jump.
Health Problems
Some Parson Russells are prone to kneecap dislocation, inherited eye diseases, deafness, Legg Perthes and mast cell tumours.
Exercise
If a Parson Russell doesn't get enough exercise it may become annoying. Daily brisk walks are good, plus it likes to run, hunt and play.
Grooming
Regularly brush the coat to keep it well-groomed.
Living Environment
An apartment is fine as long as this breed gets a lot of exercise. It is very active indoors.

This dog was named after a clergyman named Reverend John Russell.
