Description
The Shetland Sheepdog has a long feathered tail that hooks at the end, a long double coat that forms a mane around the neck and chest, and comes in various shades of blue, sable and black.
Temperament
Loyal, eager to please, alert and loving, the Shetland Sheepdog likes people. It likes to be kept busy, and, it also loves to chase things.
Health problems
This breed is prone to eye disease. Don't overfeed it because it can put on weight easily.
Exercise
The Shetland Sheepdog needs a lot of daily exercise including running free in a safe area.
Grooming
Regular brushing is important. This breed is a seasonally heavy shedder.
Living conditions
Apartment living is fine if it gets enough exercise.

The Shetland Sheepdog is related to the Icelandic Yakkin which is a small island dog that's now extinct.
